ABOUT OLDROCK

OLDROCK CLOTHING is a distinctive company in Ghana which creates, designs, develops and manufactures high-quality bamboo socks. Since its operation in December 2015, the company has been successfully offering its valuable services in the fields of socks in the local and international market and always in compliance with customers’ requirements.

WHAT WE DO

We produce high-quality socks which are highly competitive with global standards. Our socks are made from carefully selected bamboo fibres which embraces some of our unique African designs ranging from traditional to contemporary-inspired patterns. We make colourful and light to solid and fine socks: from classic and fashion socks to casual outdoor, army, sporty and technical socks.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to become the pinnacle of clothing companies in Africa and the world while providing a hub for employment opportunities that cut across every level of education.

HOW IT ALL BEGUN

OLDROCK CLOTHING began in 2014 when six (6) young men in our final year at the university decided to battle the high rate of unemployment in the country with creativity and entrepreneurship. Our aim was to create something unique using materials that can be found in Africa and generate income while providing jobs for others.

Upon several weeks of brainstorming, research and deliberating, we finally decided to create a unique product which would not only be suitable for the country’s climate but would also help promote Africa. This was a step in the right direction as we realized that most socks on the market were made without the African climate in mind. Due to the lack of consideration for the hot African weather, most socks wearers have sweaty feet which usually results in feet odour. Armed with these results, we decided to create pairs of socks that would not only be light and suitable for the climate but also serve as an anti-odour agent for the feet.

In order to achieve our aim, we selected the bamboo fibre, which can be found in Africa and also possesses peculiar benefits such as;

With the raw materials sorted, implementations put in place and with the help of Ghanaian designers and collaboration of artistes in Ghana and beyond, we (now a quartet) created designs, patterns and symbols which depict our African roots and tell the African story in a unique way.

On the 24th of December 2015, we produced our first batch of socks (244 pairs) which sold out in 4 days.

OUR WAY OF DOING BUSINESS

We use a creative and flexible approach: OldRock Clothing develops four (4) collections every year. This is on a quarterly basis. Customers can choose products from our collection or can provide their own design for their PRIVATE label collection.
